Pros

Ampere has been a refreshing place to work after many years at larger, established companies. The bureaucracy is incredibly low and management gives the technical staff the autonomy to make decisions and get stuff done. This also allows decisions to be make quickly, so the entire team is able to move nimbly. Renee as CEO is a fearless and formidable leader, while also being incredibly approachable and transparent with all employees. She is laser focused on her vision for the company and does a great job of rallying everyone around those goals. The rest of the executive team is also top notch, providing clear leadership and a coherent message across all the teams. Ampere culture is truly built on mutual respect and trust. There is very little ego here. The focus is on getting the work done and solving problems. It doesn't matter what your grade level is - if you can jump in and contribute on something, you will likely be welcomed. Our most junior people also work directly with our most senior, all the time. You get to create and build entirely new technology and designs at Ampere. As a start-up, we began with blank sheets of paper - we have to build everything from scratch that we don't buy as IP. You get to solve problems for the first time, not just always iterating on what someone else did before you. This is refreshing, exciting and really fun! It feels like we are at the forefront of a computing revolution, the kind of which only comes around once a decade or 2. We have the opportunity to be a part of what is next in the world of computing, which is really exciting.

Cons

Being a start-up, spending is always very tight. Engineering teams do not do very much travel as a result, so working with remote people/teams is almost all done virtually.
