Pros

Amplify was chockfull of the smartest people I've ever worked with.

Cons

The company bit off more than it could chew. Its portfolio of products was too diversified. It is great that they've refocused on curriculum and assessment.

Pros

Worked with a lot of great people. Enjoyed the work I was doing.

Cons

Laid off - not sure how great their retention of employees is. Seems people at the top change their minds and overhaul the company as needed.

Passionate people who want to do the right thing

Pros

Most of the people truly want to improve education for students and do good. People are generally easy-going and there's a great work/life balance. More processes are being put into place and resources directed at the right places to allow us to move faster and accelerate our growth.

Cons

Different divisions have different priorities and overall direction isn't always quite so clear so that people align in their goals; promises are made without consulting all of the stakeholders/people involved, which leads to downstream confusion and frustration. Compensation structure doesn't really reward people who go above-and-beyond, and there's a culture of complacency that stems from that.
