Pros

Amplify has an uncommon conviction that they should partner with, rather than replace, teachers. They are just as serious about pedagogy and technology where most edtech companies are serious about only one.

Cons

Amplify needs to hold its employees and products to higher standards for quality.

Pros

There are some talented and well-intentioned employees who genuinely want to do good work and improve the company. The organization uses tools like Salesforce that could drive strong insights and collaboration if implemented correctly.

Cons

The company is extremely disorganized at every level. There’s no clear structure or handoff between Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success, which causes duplicated work, confusion, and inconsistent communication. Salesforce is used, but it’s set up very poorly — no established nomenclature system, no data hygiene standards, and frequent duplicate accounts. Reports are unreliable because data entry practices vary widely across teams. Management does not take constructive feedback well. When employees offer thoughtful suggestions or point out inefficiencies, the response is often defensive rather than open or solution-oriented. This creates a culture where problems persist instead of being addressed. To make matters worse, when I submitted a professional two-week notice to allow for a smooth transition, the company chose to end my employment immediately rather than honoring that notice period. While this might be legally permissible, it reflects poorly on how leadership values professionalism and goodwill.

Pros

Interesting opportunity Travel Resume booster - possibly the best part of my experience "Support" available - there is a kick off event that is meant to support new Professional Learning Specialists and mentors assigned, but there was a huge learning curve and gap that you must be self-motivated to figure out. Although you pay for travel upfront, you will be reimbursed as long as you follow the guidelines.

Cons

This role and company is borderline predatory on the many teachers that look to leave the classroom. I did notice that many higher ups in the corporate offices started as classroom teachers and VPs start their motivational talks by saying that they started in the classroom too. Metrics for success are not clearly laid out or equitable. Company talks about being all for equity, but as a POC I delivered professional development, received racially charged comments, and in those communities I ratings and comments on the more negative side. Some mentors would say that poor scores didn't mean anything. They definitely do. I would say this is one of the most stressful parts of the job -- you can try your best but you can't always control the poor ratings/scores. Travel can also be a con if you're not up for the adventure-- air planes, driving at least 1 hour, staying in random hotels in rural America...
