      Pros

      Some of the best tech people that I have worked with in years and a focus on the improvement of education in the US

      Cons

      Too many unqualified people in sales and product development and the Larry Berger's constant development change requests with absolutely no knowledge or caring of what it would take to implement the change killed moral and caused resources that should of been working on improvement and fixing of the existing product were trying to shoehorn in a management change request at the last minute that would just cause the software to fail in product. It is a real shame that the company has come to this especially after spending $400 million dollars on a product that can not be sold.

      Pros

      Good work-life balance in that people clear out of the office as quickly as possible at the end of the day. Free soft drinks and very limited quantities of free snacks. Opportunity to be smugly self-congratulatory about doing "good".

      Cons

      Truly stunning levels of incompetence at the executive levels. Engineering talent is bottom of the barrel. Rank-and-file keep busy with CYA. Brooklyn office is in dangerous disrepair - leaks, heat/AC issues, elevators regularly drop multiple floors or get stuck.

      Pros

      Cushy job, non challenging work, .. if you're into that.. and you had better be or pretend at any rate! Lots of communal space, free foods, drinks etc.... waffle wednesday! Good community building exercises.

      Cons

      You will suffocate. There is no room for change or growth, improvement or even the slightest criticism, and I speak only to the creative group I was assigned to. They seemed pretty pleased with what they had done. All in all the work I was exposed to was really sub standard. This is particularly worry-some, as this is for EDUCATION, k thru 12.
