Pros

Flexible with new hybrid schedule

Cons

I don't feel that women, especially women of color are paid as equally as men or predominately white women.

Pros

Great benefits, Employees have great expertise within operations that are passionate about rail, great vision for the future

Cons

While they have a great vision, they can't execute on the vision. They can't think outside of the box and think that with more money they can keep doing the same thing and get different results. Poor culture-- their culture and core values are not what is displayed in the behaviors of many senior leaders or employees. Lack of resources (technology, people, funding)-- this makes it difficult to execute and causes delays in getting anything done.

Pros

Truthfully there are not many pros of working at Amtrak anymore. The CEO (Anderson) and CAO (Stadler) are slowly taking all the benefits away from the employees to increase their salaries/bonuses. The people that do the real work are no longer happy and internally the place is falling apart, as executive management is working to make the company more "efficient." However, the company is no longer effective. They will take their money and leave at some point while Amtrak is going to be left in a huge mess. That is the problem with bringing executives in out of retirement...very easy to cut much needed money from the budget and disappear after the damage is done saying look what I did and blame the problems on the next CEO. Oh, did I mention executive management will leave with full pockets for sitting at home and making bad decisions.

Cons

Too many to list. The only way I would ever suggest coming to Amtrak is if you have no other options. If so, use it as a stepping stone and get out fast.
