      Pros

      The tech stack, the cloud apps, the tools we get to use, are all quite modern. There's a lot you get to learn if you are coming from a less modern company. There are also lots of motivated brilliant people around you at all times who are a treat to work with and learn from.

      Cons

      The new CIO seems to be very fond of gutting the department and moving the jobs offshore. They seemed to have already started looking at cost cutting In addition to that, it doesn't matter the complexity of an issue if you cannot get it resolved immediately the way management likes it, you will be yelled at. This is usually coming from the top of our chain, which is unfortunate since our managers and directors are great to work with.

      Pros

      Get to work with some of the latest tech out there. If it's a buzzword you can be sure we're using it.

      Cons

      The hours are ridiculous, I haven't not worked a 10 hour shift on a weekday or just had a work free weekend in a very long time. Management doesn't care as long as you're doing what you're told. The CFO hired a CIO under him to keep himself as far away from the IT org as possible. The CIO herself fired anyone in management who had any ideas of their own and hired a bunch of yes-men When anything goes wrong, expect to be blamed but when things go right, you can be sure you won't be getting any credit for the work you did.
