      Great company, some departments need work

      Pros

      Inspiring CEO, great benefits, fantastic culture. The CEO makes you feel proud to be an employee of Ansys.

      Cons

      Pricing dept lacks focus. There is no actual pricing work. It’s a constant cycle of busy work or assisting the business operations department with processing orders. If you are a person who likes to accomplish things, it’s not for you. The good old boys club needs broken up and replaced with engaged, passionate leaders.

      Mid-Level Mis-Management !

      Pros

      In theory you have the ability to build and make your own deals and earn a lot of money, so in theory an aggressive sales person would do well.

      Cons

      Mid-Level Management is spineless, pathetic, and won't trust their employees to build the deals. They won't stand behind the employee proposals and instead make their own anyways. They then will propose what they want to the customer which is less aggressive to begin with and fold like a house of cards at the first sign of customer concern. Managers have no idea how to tell customers no and leverage Ansys' value or leverage the Salesperson's knowledge of the account, instead resorting right away to hemorrhaging margin and giving things for free. As a result, the formerly aggressive salesperson has all of their work diminished and then they earn a mere scrap of what they had aimed for as a result of mid-level management's ineptitude.

      Pros

      I joined Ansys a few months ago and it seems like all the new leadership really has had a positive impact on the organization. They always have their doors open to new ideas & there is really a family feel amongst our department. Great benefits too including ESPP, which is great especially for a really strong and stable company. From a perks perspective, there are new lunch options every day and free drinks in the cafeteria. Not to mention every Friday is movie day in the cafeteria. It's a great way to connect with co-workers, watch a movie and have some popcorn.

      Cons

      There's some obvious traffic in SouthPointe every day, but if you time it out right, you can avoid it.
