      Good money, bad management

      Pros

      The people were mostly good to work with and good at their jobs. The salary and bonuses were pretty good. Your personal machine was always top of the line.

      Cons

      There was a lot of empire building that went on that detracted from getting things done. A lot of the managers were in constant competition to get their tool/idea to be adopted at any cost. There were also some reasonably high up managers that were totally incompetent, but nobody was going to do anything about it.

      ANSYS is a good company to work for, but perennially tight budgets constrain the creativity and power of its employees.

      Pros

      ANSYS has a compelling product vision, is highly profitable, and is a performance-driven company that rewards success. The work environment is generally positive, friendly, supportive.

      Cons

      Company does not adequately fund many initiatives. Management style is heavily "top down, command control". You're given the goals and objectives but not always the necessary authority or resources to achieve them.

      -opportunity to work with the best in the industry -salary is at par with the industry, could be better -Flexible timing.. at the end of the day the work got to be done -No one is sitting on your head monitoring what you are doing every hour

      Cons

      -Stagnation after few years -Lack of leadership at senior level in few groups
