Pros

-Awesome people to work with -Make good money dependent on business and season -Easy job to keep if you can keep up with demands of the job -Regular guests contribute to the atmosphere of positivity

Cons

-Management chooses favorites. -Will get reviews and told you'll be given a raise but never get one. -Demographic of guests are snobby old people -Hardly a discount for employees that working up to 9 hours a day

Pros

Tips and hours at minimum wage equals very good money for a part time job. If you like physical activity in your job, this is the one for you. Lifting and carrying heavy loads, balancing full trays of glassware and ceramic, virtually "walking" (more like w-unning or speed walking) up to 5 miles a day, you will most certainly get a workout. My particular restaurant has relatively healthy relationships and a relatively positive environment. Sometimes you have time to talk with guests, which can be fun and rewarding. Part time means you have a lot of free time to yourself. It can be relatively easy to get shifts covered on a dime or requested off. In general, it is a good company to work for, and my managers take good care of their employees.

Cons

If you want to move up to become a server, it can take years of diligent, quality work as a busser. It is easier to become a server at Anthony's by being one at a quality establishment elsewhere first. Being a busser is very physically taxing, especially "double" shift days where you may work 8 hours more or less straight. Breaks during shifts are rare, because of the peer pressure to perform well and the constant influx of guests. Sometimes you may end up at a restaurant in which the manager is friends with some servers and lets them get away with murder, or where the drama is overwhelming. I have heard stories. Benefits only benefit those who consistently work 30 or more hours a week for an entire year. So that means only managers, cooks, and workaholic servers, in essence.
