Pros

The company as a whole is really well structured and the management is set up in a way to accommodate everyone's needs. I really love working here because not only do I have legitimate fun at work, but I make enough money to support myself on my own, put myself through college, and have some money left over to save. Now don't get me wrong, it is hard work no matter what job title you have, but it is very rewarding. And who says you can't have fun while working hard? Time off is very easy to obtain. All of my coworkers are flexible and will help me out and take a couple of my shifts if needed. Not to mention that the management is very aware of our changing lives and is able to structure our schedules in a way that best fits us (to an extent). I have worked at this company for almost a year, and I have already been cross-trained in four different positions. So there is always room for advancement. In terms of work to life ratios, I would say this is perfect. I go to school in the morning, have a few hours to do whatever I want, then head to work for four to six hours, then I get home before 11 every night.

Cons

This is a fast paced job and requires you to be able to interact and communicate with guests, management, and co-workers. Advancing is almost all up to you. If you don't try to succeed, you won't. There are some side jobs that have to be done at the end of the night which is less than desirable when you are tired, but all restaurants have similar tasks. After all, you're working part time, making full time money, so in reality, one shouldn't complain.

Pros

Great food; all freshly prepared. Busy restaurants. A lot of great, long term staff. Proud of the product.

Cons

Upper management (home office) arrogant and out of touch. If a long term, senior VP can be fired, who has job security?(other than family members). And let's face it, when that firing happened, company culture went from one of excitement and opportunity to a dark miasma of fear. The higher ups are just too full of themselves to see it.

Pros

For a corporate restaurant the atmosphere is very laid back and most people enjoy working their. The food is great as well!

Cons

As an expediter/food-runner I am getting 0.7% of total sales at a tip out, which is about half as much as other places I've worked. There is a lot of seasonal hire servers, which can add stress during the busy summer season while they're learning.
