Pros

Lots of great managers and resources allow an ambitious employee achieve in the right situations. Circumstances are the key.

Cons

Not the easiest environment for promotion and or advancement beyond an existing set of skills. Moving up takes timing and some luck

Pros

Brilliant people Opportunity to Work Directly with Fortune 500 Senior Management

Cons

No idea what their talent strategy was - you definitely get put into a "Job Level" you can never leave. Insane internal battling over money - particularly over revenue credit at every level - between producers, practices, business units. Profitability is analyzed to the nth degree - ultimately ended up spending more time having to put together profitability plans for my clients than I actually got to spend with or on the clients. Management had absolutely lost sight of the importance of technical training or expertise - lots of young insurance brokers/account teams who actually don't know anything about insurance.....?

Pros

I worked for Aon in IT for over 7 years and enjoyed the people I worked with and FOR during that time. Aon is full of committed people, some politics of course - always there, but for the most part individually they are great.

Cons

Everything else was a problem. In IT there was no commitment from management and was viewed as a horrible expense, and everything in Aon is AN EXPENSE to be minimized for shareholder value. That is the big problem. They may advertise great websites, but internally it is a horror show. CSC was brought in to fix everything in 2005, made it worse.
