Pros

Flexible schedule. Good employees and good location.

Cons

Too much work. Lousy training. Technology is old and behind times. Benefits are awful. Team leaders accentuate the negative and do not mention good work you do. Do not promote from within. Raises are small and they do not pay raises and bonuses ,if any, as was told when hired. Do not promote from within. Usually comes from outsude or they promote the people who suck up. Very low job satisfaction in whole office.

Pros

Great colleagues and fun (yet stressful) atmosphere.

Cons

Very poor work/life balance that you will not be compensated for. You will be expected to work a minimum of 45 hours per week and will likely get some nasty looks if you take any vacation or sick days during a busy time of year. Your busy time of year will depend on the clients you work with, so you might not be able to take a day off all summer or might have short holiday vacations depending on where you land. The benefits are decent; typical for today's standards, but they are definitely not premium benefits. Expect the company to shift most of the health care premium cost increases to you each year. Promotions and raises are very subjective and largely depend on the manager you are assigned to. There are NO processes in place to ensure your manager is doing their due diligence interviewing the people you work with when filling out your review. Aon Benfield creates great analysts, but they do not create good managers. Managers are just analysts strapped for time that fill out your review at the last minute.

Pros

Office was close to my home and school. Although I was only employed by a small segment, travel insurance, of a corporate insurance giant, I can say that Aon, as a whole, is a very solid, profitable company. Great 401k matching. Solid benefits.

Cons

Very cliquey office environment in Jericho. Several employees, including bosses, all of whom have been working there for 8, 10, 15+ years, feel the need to bully certain new people that get hired. Unless you are a close relative or friend of someone that is already working there, preferably a person in upper management, I would not recommend this workplace. Salary was very low.
