Pros

Flexible work hours, work/life balance (depending on team), opportunity to have a job or title you wouldn't be qualified for elsewhere.

Cons

Multiple teams doing the same thing, excessive changes in management and building moves, too much money spent on multiple groups doing the same thing, inconsistent processes, misuse of manager and director titles, too high of salaries for people that add absolutely no value.

Pros

benefits used to be good but are gutted more and more every year. What was great health insurance 5 years ago is now a joke. deductions, copays, co-insurance, etc etc. You should see the deductions on my tax return. Same for education, What used to be completely free is also gutted. Pay was good when I left. work/life balance was always good, kind of depends on which manager you have. Last year they also introduced profit sharing which worked out ok.

Cons

bad insurances, crappy reviews. bad managers. This company spent 30 million on an hr implementation, then 3 years later is outsourcing it. They spent millions moving people around between buildings (on different locations, 10 miles apart), only to have them end up on the exact same building (and floors !) a few years later. I kid you not. Upper management is a buddy buddy club. Changes frequently. In 15 years I lost count of all the CEO's and CIO's who have come and gone; all with a golden parachute. Too much red tape when developing software. A 30 minute fix takes a full day in documentation and procedures. Politics because someone doesn't "like" a product is terrible. Good technical people are promoted to be managers who then have NO clue how to manage. Too many managers. I knew a lot of "managers" who didn't have anyone report to them ! ridiculous. They have lost an enormous amount of enrolled students including the critical new enrollments. Cut in half in a couple years if not more.HEAVILY depending on federal aid which is being cut back (left leaning government which is anti private university) In 15 years I've seen this place go from pretty great to sub-standard. Too bad. It could have been a lean machine with great people.
