Pros

Salary/benefits package are competitive. Large company - opportunities for lateral moves. A leader in its industry (albeit losing market share) Most managers are reasonable and competent / good to work for Upper management makes some accommodations for employee work/life balance

Cons

As a veteran of this company, I can say it's recent rocky road in terms of market share loss is partially to blame on upper management who could have foreseen and responded earlier; granted though, they currently are making innovative, dynamic products to add new revenue streams While communication from the top down has vastly improved over the years, there is no clear channel of communication the other way, i.e. no anonymous employee suggestion route (there are surveys every couple of years but as a large company it's difficult for senior mgt to act on responses that way) If you get a job here, you've won the lottery, as there have been hundreds of layoffs over the last few years. I will say those layoffs were necessary though, so props to mgt for the right decision A few select managers are quite ruthless, however are supported fully by upper management, who ONLY respond to those managers' profit results, not about how miserable their staff might be or significant attrition in those areas. TRUST: if middle and upper management could SIGNIFICANTLY increase trust among all staff, morale would proportionally increase...happy employees are good employees.
