Pros

Highly intelligent people in every department. Lots of young professionals who will work and play at 100% every day. Lots of opportunity for growth in the retail loyalty market. The company is a market disruptor and can certainly make waves.

Cons

Management can be too political at times. Far too much in terms of opacity between departments. Collaboration can sometimes be seen as a waste of time by management when it should be encouraged to develop better company morale. Management consists of very tight inner circle that despite their great competence and intelligence creates distance with the rest of the employees. Far too much of a "stay your lane" approach.

Pros

Appcard is the BEST place I ever worked. Upper management is absolutely spectacular and so are the people you work with. The atmosphere is incredible and more importantly I couldn't put a price on how much I learned from working here and working directly with the VP of Sales. Truly, I am so blessed for everything that this company has given me. If you are a recent graduate like I was, this is a dream for you because you get to learn and work hands on with one of the top VPs in NYC and work with the legendary CEO. Appcard is not only a place to learn, make good money and become a shareholder of the company, but it is a place that has changed my life and I wish nothing but great success for everyone that worked there.

Cons

Coffee sucks (I don't drink coffee)

Pros

Founders are very well accomplished technologists and tech entrepreneurs. The company pays for beers every friday and they have a kitchen with snacks and almond milk (I'm lactose intolerant so that was a pleasant surprise when I started working there). I think overall they are good people and i have a cool bunch of colleagues

Cons

Frankly I don't have much work experience but something is just not right about this place. If they know that you are looking for another job, they fire you. If you find something else and give your two weeks notice, they fire you. In the past two months I think that they have let go of about 15 people. There was one guy who they gave an offer to, so he quit his other job, and then they pulled back the offer. They're compensation and benefits package is not that good either, only 10 vacation days which is the minimum required by law, other companies give you at least 15 days or unlimited. Being here I get the sense that they don't care for the employees and don't invest in their people and other reviews on here show that as well. And I'm starting to get the sense that these people will use your personal issues against you - there was an announcement made to the entire company that someone took a sick day to deal with a bed bug issue... I mean really? How is that relevant? This is why I don't think this place is conducting themselves as a professional organization should. And the only sales training I got was "you know how to talk to people, right?" I can't wait to get out of here but I'm afraid to actually voice my unhappiness because I'll lose my job.
