      Boring 6 months of training - high expecations - cutthroat

      Pros

      Great benefits, health insurance, PTO, and retirement.

      Cons

      The training is like taking a difficult college class that is 8 hours long each day and it is absolutely mentally exhausting. Hours are 8am to 5pm sharp. No flexibility on when you start or end the work day. Pointless meetings that kill productivity. You must score 85% or higher on all tests or else you are terminated. Very cutthroat environment.

      Pros

      The culture has remained at a high level for the most part post Covid. AppFolio takes care of their people and believes strongly in work life balance. Working cross functionally is encouraged and welcomed internally. Onboarding is fantastic, product is sound, the employees make the company.

      Cons

      Compensation. Salaries remain lower than market even during inflation. New leadership brought in from mainly one company has turned it into their previous company. Unfortunately this has impacted culture but overall culture is still a plus.

      Great company to work, no complaints 4 years later

      Pros

      I've worked at AppFolio for 4 years now and still feel its a gret company to work. I love the work life balance, flexibility and the ability to make a huge impact. If you are motivated and truly want to impact the life of customers in a super stable company, AppFolio is a great place to work.

      Cons

      As the company grows, there needs to be a continued effort to stay agile and nimble. My only complaint is that with growth their is now more bureaucracy than there was before.
