Pros

Will give you mental health issues

Cons

• Will get fired immediately the second you underperform • Do you complain about how high the rent is? Good thing you get to appease the parasitical landlords at this job. • The training is a complete nightmare, and while they tell you reach out for help it takes half a day for anybody to respond. • They will lie to you about the details of the job. • Very cult like atmosphere, if you don't drink the Kool-Aid of the company you definitely will not survive. Independent free thought is not welcome. • Extremely underpaid for a customer care role to be berated by management and clients.

Pros

-remote -colleagues (other operators) are some of the smartest and best people I have ever met (artists, musicians, etc) -used to be flexible (this is changing)

Cons

-management and policy changing quickly without communication -if discuss raise, benefits, or wage you will be shut down and told no -does not follow state laws (eg. PSL) without operators doing detailed research and advocating for selves and other operators -employer does not look out for employee and perhaps tries to cut corners to pay least amount, give least amount of benefits, etc even if it means breaking the law -with new management, there are levels and levels of hierarchy and multiple managers doing 1 manager's job, this leads to miscommunication and ultimately stress/issues for operators (as they are always the ones blamed) -you won't be seen or treated like an equal member of the company, even though you will be doing the actual job / running the product for the company (without you, the 24/7 product would not function) -company is anti-worker's rights (the majority of operators asked for voluntary recognition of their union and management chose not to voluntarily recognize and is in the midst of harsh anti-union campaign) -other remote employees in the company get stipend for working from home gear, as an operator you have to use your personal devices (your computer, phone, etc) and this job puts a lot of wear on your computer/ they require you to install monitoring software -breaks for long shifts are very short -present management is limiting operator discussion by re-directing public posts in slack to DM with their managers, even when policy or software issues impact the team -can be isolating due to the above
