Pros

- You get to work with really incredible and talented people who are passionate about what they do. - The UX team is a really welcoming team. All the designers I collaborated with were exceptional. The team is committed to better the user's experience and are keen on ensuring the designers learn from one another. - Great manager. Had an amazing UX manager who helped me grow as a UX designer by being intentional about the goals we were trying to achieve. - Felt as a designer, I had a voice and my opinions mattered. - Learned so much within a short period. - Also get to be part of impactful work. - I appreciated the feedback giving. I was able to receive constant feedback both about my performance but also about my designs. The feedback was immediate and constant and this set me up for growth by having tangible action items to work on. - Great culture!

Cons

Had an overall great experience. Only con would be that the company could do with more diverse employees. The UX team is pretty diverse but the company itself could do better.

Pros

Great, beautiful office in a great location, benefits package is great, good teammates/collegial environment (up to about Directors and below).

Cons

While Appian as a whole is a great company to work for, the marketing department specifically is not a place to go if you are passionate about your career. Unless you are just looking for a paycheck / benefits and have high tolerance for a lot of change, you won't last long here. From a digital marketing perspective, they still operate like it's 2010, so you won't go in, and learn about the latest in B2B marketing. The culture in marketing is also toxic. While on the surface level, the culture is collegial and laid back, there's an intensity they expect you to operate under that was too much for me. It comes all the way down from the Founders. Ultimately, I quit because I wasn't learning anything that was helping me grow my career. I didn't want to deal with the bureaucracy and lack of leadership/vision. Some of the people in leadership positions have questionable character but again, as long as you're in the 'cool club', no number of HR complaints will slow you down.
