      Falls so short of what I expected

      Pros

      They have a nice office space and friendly coworkers. Pay is also decent for the area.

      Cons

      They really don't encourage out-of-the-box thinking and want everyone to adhere to a narrow view of drinking the cool aid and never questioning things. Professional services is going down incredibly fast and no one seems to care. Anyone who wants a place to learn and grow should avoid Appian at all costs.

      Pros

      You can potentially keep your job for years even though you won't sell anything.

      Cons

      10-15 AEs out of 150+ made quota every year that I was at the company. Pricing is an absolute mess. Leadership has some kind of identity crisis with the product and keeps changing what you'll sell, year over year. They blame the reps for lack of success without wanting to accept the truth that something was poorly designed for that lack of success across the entirety of the team.

      Cons

      * Management lacks ability to identify and foster growth in their engineers * Depending on team, the problems you solve could be incredibly interesting and complex, or incredibly boring and simple.
