      Good Technology. Nice location in Reston Town Center.

      Cons

      Inconsistent and poor management from the sales end. No regard for hard work or dedicated people . Only driven by greed. They will throw you under the bus.My efforts with my AE helped bring in almost 2 million dollars in 2017. I was fired for missing a meeting goal in February after being there for almost 4 years. You can do better.

      Good product. HQ has free coffee when you visit externally. Lots of smart coworkers who have the best of intentions

      Cons

      Despite promising the IPO wouldn’t change “the culture”, the culture has changed dramatically in the hands of inept, reactive leadership. They are putting in new metrics that are not only unrealistic but are performative at best. Sales leadership has new names but all still answer to and bid the doing of the tyrant other reviews refer to. Marketing is a revolving door of new and seasoned hires alike brought in as sacrificial scapegoats to force off the “glass cliff”. There’s a massive influx of newly hired salespeople with absolutely no new hires in supporting roles. There are no efforts at all by leadership anywhere to navigate for the long haul. The present environment has been overrun yes men, micromanagers, and leadership who have never actually lead their function prior to their Appian stint- all freaking out and reacting to Wall Street like they promised they wouldn’t. The veterans and the favored “District 1” will all soon be coming out en masse with their positive reviews here to counter reviews like this one. For everyone else caught in the mix- may the odds ever be in your favor.

      Best Software Company I've Ever Worked For

      Pros

      Very well run company. Growing fast and changing all the time which creates growth opportunities from within. I've worked at ~10 different software companies over my career. Founder control and direction here makes all the difference. No change since going public.

      Cons

      You have to bring your best game as everyone expects a lot from each other.
