      Pros

      For the young folks starting here or mid level folks, this is a Stepping stone, it was just that. A stepping stone to The next job.

      Cons

      Just like the Appian. All roads have an end. The end of Appian BPM is over. It has been for years. The end of BPM software is done for. This company won't be around much longer and like others, Appian fizzles out. Good bye Appian! So long! Farewell to BPM.

      The end? Only if we start to take our success for granted. Going public this year validates both the institution that is Appian as well as the low-code platform market opportunity that lies ahead. I recall the view from the train I rode home from the IPO in NYC, the faded and rusted steel mills, the crumbling capitalist cathedrals of the past. A strong reminder that we are all mortal to be sure but the end of Appian? No, I think not. This is merely the end of Appian's beginning.

      - The Town Center... the commute is far from DC - Inconsistent culture between different areas of the company

      Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. I know Reston isn't ideal for everyone but the campus feel and access to amenities to improve work/life fit was a big part of the decision. Hoping for metro improvements to make that form of transportation more reliable. I was excited that you noted the ability to pivot and grow throughout Appian as that seems like a "hidden perk" that we are working to share more broadly.

      Great Product and Exciting Times Ahead

      Pros

      • Great product...it actually works! • Highly intelligent employees • Engaging environment • Consistent high growth • Competes successfully against the industry heavyweights • Exciting plans for the future • Family supportive (with nice events and getaways) • Monday morning breakfasts and snacks

      Cons

      • The high growth has still been constrained by the desire to grow profitability (obviously not all bad) • Needs to further develop it's partner strategy • Does not have a brand recognition commensurate with the product/market positioning, world-wide footprint, and growth.

      Thank you for the thoughtful feedback! After our recent getaway to Wintergreen in the US I couldn't agree more about the family friendly environment. The areas you pointed out for improvement are actively being worked on from a hiring and PR perspective. We are also growing in the departments you called out. So spread the word and refer, refer, refer!
