Pros

- Great culture at the team level - Talented & generous coworkers - Great managers - Impressive product

Cons

Upper Leadership driving the company into the ground with mismanagement. Talented and very tenured employees are jumping ship. Leadership focused on internal politics and optics. Pushing out leaders who stick their neck out trying to course correct. Reward blind followers. Failing at sales strategy. Micromanaging Product & Engineering causing disfunction to avoid solving the strategy problem.

Unreasonable timelines Being gaslit to work more than 9-5 Minimal appreciation for any work done

Pros

- Love what I do and my department - My boss does not micromanage and I am autonomous - Fair pay (once I got another offer and used it as leverage) - Global organization - Amazing product - Health benefits are solid - Promotion potential is doable, though more challenging now that Sales numbers are down.

Cons

- Up to a 6% bonus for non-sales folk (3% this year...joy) - Lack of uniform messaging on how Appian should present itself in the marketplace, - Founders are a bit out of touch - Leadership turnover (last two CRO's only with the company for 1.5 years each). -Unrealistic expectations of Sales re: renewal uplifts, target numbers, etc. while reducing the potential commission possible. - Laid off the all of the Sales Development Reps. globally to align with CEO's new strategy. - Little diversity in C-Suite positions (1 Asian woman, 1 white woman, 2 male Indians, one male Spaniard (I think), and 9 white guys).
