Pros

Good colleagues, who were smart and wanted to make an impact.

Cons

Leadership, who doesn’t allow that impact to be made and dictates what can and can’t be done. My mental health plummeted as an employee as I was asked to do the work of many people while leadership didn’t care about seeing the results of my work. Any discussion about personal growth or development was put off and ignored. Excuses were made for leadership on the decisions that they were making. Diversity and inclusion isn’t a topic of discussion and when brought up as a problem, it is said that it’s priority but continues to be ignored.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you had a wonderful experience with your colleagues, and we agree that Appian is filled with some of the smartest, most capable, and results driven individuals. This is true across Appian and specifically within our Talent Acquisition team. We understand the importance of mental health and wellbeing and have access to our Employee Assistance program that offers access to confidential counseling (in addition to other options). Appian prides itself in cultivating an environment to support the growth of our employees. The Talent Acquisition team often does this with on the job stretch opportunities and projects. On the job learning and stretch opportunities have been found to be the most effective way to grow in one’s career. We also offer opportunities for conference attendance and 1:1 coaching. Diversity and Inclusion is also a topic that remains a priority at Appian and specifically within the Talent Acquisition team. We drive the importance with brown bag discussions as well as actionable sourcing strategies that the team has been asked to deliver on. We appreciate your feedback and wish you the best of luck in your future.

Pros

Decent pay and good benefits, some smart and great folks work there

Cons

the RTO movement is overdone and doesn't even result in more collaboration. They just want to monitor people coming into the building, regardless of how long their commute is (100 miles a day is a pretty insane amount to expect). I assume it's because of an expensive lease as no one enjoys it. They even made employees that they hired on as full-time remote come into the office if they live within 50 miles once they decided they wanted people in the office.
