Great Culture

Pros

A great place to work. The culture is exceptional. Coworkers are very intellectual and her are willing to collaborate or assist where needed. Virtual company so you get to work from home or have the option to go into an office if you are local.

Cons

No 401(k) match. The stock plan is not really great at this time because they are private company and the stock is not worth much. It's a virtual company so if you are not used to working from home or working alone you can feel lost sometimes. I like working from home so this is not an issue for me.

Pros

At Appirio, you work with the best Salesforce people in the game. If you get on the right project team, it can be exhilarating and you can learn a lot, fast, while doing really good work - but even the average teams are good. A great place to develop skills and hone your craft, while working with great people. Resilient culture, despite a bumpy ride the last year or so.

Cons

There's a mantra of "no happy talk" and a general culture of straight talking. Certainly the senior management is mostly clear, open, and honest. Get one level down, though, and you start to encounter sycophants and smoke blowers. Every two weeks I tune out when the sales guy gets on the company call to review the pipeline - it's great that the company shares the data with everyone in the organization, but not so great the way they present it on the all hand with that heavy dose of implausible saccharine. Also, please stop saying "wood to chop."

Pros

Engaged leadership and a fairly flat hierarchy means there is less focus on who puts forth an idea, and more on the merit of the idea. That's a stark difference from other organizations I have worked for where your title mattered more than your work. Career opportunities I've experienced here have been great and I've learned so much. While I do work a lot, I feel good about my work and don't mind the sweat equity since everyone else works hard as well. However, I would say hard work and quality work are quickly rewarded. Culturally I would say transparency and collaboration are highly valued, more so than any other place I've worked. Lot's of very smart people and a positive results driven culture makes for engaging work.

Cons

Overall company strategy doesn't always seem to align to some areas of the business. Work-life balance isn't exactly there given high utilization targets, however the work is rewarding enough to balance this out.
