Despite how much they hound you to keep the place clean, they only actually pay attention to the people they don't like. Their favourite waiters and waitresses can get away with murder. The place is constantly dirty, dining room and kitchen. Management doesn't know the meaning of "unbiased". They also don't understand the concept of giving the same amount of respect to your employees that you wish to receive in return. There is no such thing as teamwork, and you actually get punished for helping out servers in other sections who are swamped. The hostesses they hire can't manage sections to save their souls, and management expects you to be fine with not having a single table for two hours then all of a sudden getting sat with 5 tables in a row because they filled up their "favourite" waitress' section first. I cannot emphasise enough that they play favourites! If you're not one of them, then you're treated like the dirt under their shoes. Don't work here if you have any other option.

The salary is extremely low given the amount of work. There are no benefits for working at Applebee's. The company is cheap and penny pinching even when it comes to paying their employees.
