Pros

Working with talented, knowledgeable, passionate, and dedicated people. Everyone is willing to share their experience and expertise with you to help you grow and better understand the many facets of what we do. We're growing at such as fast pace and everyone is working to do their part to ensure our success as an employee-owned company. It's a very exciting thing to be a part of. I love going to work and am proud of what I do every day when I come home. What more could you want? Oh, there's also great pay, benefits, and many locations to work from (including remote).

Cons

Be ready for a self-managed working style. You're the driver of your own career at AIS, and while I like that, I know it's not for everyone. Managers and leaders are rolling out great tools to aid employee growth (such as the career framework and more structured learning programs), but you have a lot of opportunities to grow and work your way up as long as you're willing to take charge. We're also growing, which comes with growing pains, but there's a lot of good that comes out of that too.

Pros

The projects are challenging whether it's customizing SharePoint, migrating on-prem solutions to the cloud (Azure and AWS), or implementing CI/CD to speed up a client's development iterations. Every project, even every sprint, I've learned something new. There are so many brilliant people to work with that it's nearly impossible to not be able to get help with an issue. There is no internal competition among the staff. We all help each other to the benefit of our clients. Upper management have been in the trenches as a developer, infrastructure, or BA/PM. They know what we do and how to lead us. New internal programs are providing more opportunities for employees to grow in both technical and business development roles. There is true work/life balance in a well executed "Work hard, Play hard" environment. While there is some opportunity or, occasionally, need to work more than 40 hours, they really manage it well. There are several employee events throughout the year from holiday parties to sporting events to the Texas offices' family BBQ cook-off and more. Good benefits including great healthcare, 401k, and vacation time.

Cons

The only thing I would like is to be able to have a little more in-person time with the project team and/or client. The federal project I'm on has team members across 4 different offices. However, I understand the cost involved, so this is nit-picky at worst.

Pros

Business model and employee ownership attracts and retains great people. Focus on leading technology and personnel professional development investment. Heavily invested for growth.

Cons

We need more people but they are hard to find so we have to build them. This is expensive and time consuming.

Thanks so much for the positive feedback – we greatly appreciate it! As a company, we completely understand how difficult it can be to hire experienced professionals, especially with the new emerging technologies. With that said, we continue to build and grow from within the organization but most importantly to invest in our employees with training, education, and certifications to give everyone an opportunity to advance their skill set.
