      Lack of applied learning opportunites

      Pros

      Lots of resources and a good amount of time to focus on additional learning (i.e. online classes, seminars).

      Cons

      Communication is difficult, lots of inefficiencies due to miscommunication and lost information. Newer engineers can feel like technicians a lot of the time, with repetitive work, not much problem solving. A lot of learning comes through classes rather than actual problems. Overtime expected and not compensated for salaried employees.
