Pros
Challenging work environment, competitive benefits, opportunities for travel and field work. Great place for an entry level mechanical engineer or material scientist. A few years experience here is a ticket to a good job in many industries.
Cons
In the thrall of the semiconductor industry and very sensitive to industry cycles. Rampant politics means decision making is slow and painful in spite of customer pressure to speed things up. There is little respect for support disciplines such as software, electrical controls, quality, etc, even though the equipment is heavily dependent on them. This means lots of mistakes, and product introductions can be hit or miss. Becoming more and more dependent on offshore temps.
