Small software company with limited resources operating on a shoe-string budget.
Pros
Small company with ample opportunity for individuals who like to learn. All employees wear many hats. Anyone who expresses an interest may choose to be involved in the software development cycle, the sales cycle, web page development, qa, database design and network administration.
Cons
There is no room for advancement. The company has not grown significantly in the last five years. Sales staff is pushed to sell products that are not completely developed. Once a sale is made, project managers are pushed to deliver with limited prgramming and qa resources. The work atmosphere is cyclical, with several weeks of constant crisis - during which nearly everyone works into the night and through the weekend - followed by a few weeks of relative calm. These are symptoms of an organization that is understaffed and there does not appear to be any will to correct this.
