      Good Experience Overall but Beware of Layoffs

      Pros

      The best part of working for Arcadis was the flexibility with my schedule. If I needed to take my son to a doctor appointment I could come in late or leave early and simply make those hours up at another time during the week. I could also work from home as needed. The benefits are good and they even offer a week of paid maternity/paternity leave for new parents. It's not a lot but still more than most companies offer!

      Cons

      I was laid off with half of my department. I worked for Arcadis for nearly three years and layoffs were constant. No one ever felt secure with their job. The pay is not great and they are terrible with giving raises even when an employee receives great reviews.

      * Flexible work schedule. * Many different work opportunities. * Potential to travel for work is an option. * Working with talented individuals.

      Cons

      * Many project managers and field staff severely lack technical knowledge. * The company hires individuals with master degrees and PHD’s right out of school and immediately puts them in a task managing roll. These task managers make a project more difficult than it needs to be due to their very limited field experience and technical background. * Many individuals in this company who have limited technical knowledge have huge egos. * There is a culture of finger pointing.
