Decent Company, but you need to be "Part of the family" to really fit in

Pros

CEO is a very competent operator. Smart guy with a good ability to move from ideation to action. It is now an employee owned company which should give you a good path to a retirement plan if you can stick it out. Good middle management cadre. Engineering team is excellent. Cost of living in the local area is low compared to most places.

Cons

Executive leadership is a local cabal of interrelated family members with one or two outsiders with long term connections to the family members. That isn't that big of a deal, but it does sort of limit your upward mobility in the company. CEO literally despises sales people. The office culture favors micromanagement, and that is doubly so if you are not "Family." Pay rates (at least historically) are a little bit low... not tons low.
