Pros

The company tries really hard to take care of the employees. There are several events to show appreciation from free cupcake hour, to a half-day annual company BBQ, to jam sessions with musician employees... We sold quality machines and I was always proud to say I worked at Aristocrat.

Cons

While some employees leave promptly at end of day, others are so overwhelmed they have to work long hours. Some departments are known for being the first ones in and last ones out each day. These folks don't work 12 hour days because they love their desk chair. They do it because they are either understaffed or the tools they use are insufficient for their jobs. The company is currently working on new technology to improve this, but in the meantime, some people are getting burned out with the long hours.

Pros

-generally nice and helpful teammates -better than average salary for Vegas -easy to transfer internally, both laterally, plus upward, as they promote a lot from within.

Cons

** truly horrible work-life balance - NPI/ new product launch members are expected to throw your body under the train when necessary, even with faulty planning , Design and subcontractor errors. -end of quarter pushes have 6 (or more) days/wk, 10-12 (or more) hours / day manditory -the Business overloads the factory capacity, and the work gets done over the bodies of the mfg, QC and Warehouse shipping personnel and supervisors. -every month or two you get a new "Program de Jour". -key positions are heavily understaffed, though corporation has honestly been trying to fix some MIA positions; but too little / too slowly/ too late. -way too many meetings. -corporation is very siloed, meaning parallel groups don't know what each other is up to, with very poor communication. -Design Engineering has not had their feet held to the fire enough for bad designs, especially Australia Design. -execs in Australia make key program and personnel decisions for local Ops. Other depts may be different, your mileage may vary. But Mfg, QA, Purchasing, Warehouse, Shipping. Recvng, NPI Eng, and Facilities will be extremely pushed and overworked.
