Pros

The benefits are pretty good The building is nice and new

Cons

The management is terrible and will dismiss anything subordinates bring up. Pay is terrible and they try to justify it by mentioning benefits.

Pros

Access to research equipment and top scholars

Cons

The school does not even try to give you cost of living. We had an analysis done and were found to be >$7,000 below cost of living for this town. When it was brought up to the department chair, he literally just shrugged. Graduate students are not really paid well in general, but at ASU it is particularly egregious. There is also 2 exams for PhD students, which is a waste of time, especially when committee members start dragging their feet.
