Pros

Really good health insurance policy though in the last three years can’t say that much anymore. Big universities so awesome opportunities to move around among various campuses.

Cons

They put up an image that their diversity and I think care. I’ve reported A racist comment and it has never been addressed in my unit. It’s very different unit to unit so the consistency to the charter doesn’t exist.

Pros

ASU is huge, so there are always internal opportunities at other units that you can apply for.

Cons

Extremely low pay for entry-level, student-facing staff roles, and a huge pay gap between regular staff vs. senior management. ASU senior leadership likes to say a lot of lofty things to their staff and the public, but in general, they don't pay attention to the well-being, professional development, and pay of their staff. There are some really great people at ASU, but the whole senior leadership team made the whole working environment pretty toxic for student-facing staff.

Pros

High salary and an okay office space

Cons

I worked in a new center, led by a famous writer. It was the worst professional experience I've ever had. The director has no managerial experience so has no idea how to run a center or work with others but because they are getting more fame, the university just throws money at them. The center is down to one staff member since I left. The pay was great, especially compared to other roles within the university but absolutely no money is worth the stress of being mismanaged and abused by a supervisor.
