Pay outside of engineering is lack luster. Shares can make up for it.
You are a second class citizen outside of the core business.
Development opportunities for senior individuals with tenure are limited. This is because, and I quote, ' optics are bad' for those who have had past investment. There are two reasons for this in my experience. Others may have other experiences. 1) tenure and training already recieved. In otherwords if you have been with the company a while, continous improvement is not considered for you. 2) If you dont fit the DEI profile don't bother. In other words, if you are white male the optics of investment in you could be considered negative. Despite being told 'Be your brilliant self' as a core value, the reality of execution is much different, and varies between group.
