Pros

Constant opportunities to grow into new roles & responsibilities throughout the company and across geographies. Flexible work schedule and willingness to allow some off-site work for many/most roles.

Cons

Heavy culture of consensus decision making, which worked well for ARM when it was young, but these days it needs to better empower its people to make intelligent and informed decisions on their own.

Thanks for leaving a review and your over 8 years of service with ARM! We place a lot of trust and responsibility in our employees such as the flexible work schedule you mentioned. With that flexibility is also the empowerment to make decisions, though as a company grows the pressure of consensus decision making also grows which can slow down action to the point of inaction. To that end, the more frequent communications with your line manager via AFDS should help address this, as the two of you build trust to the point where he/she feels comfortable to let you execute on a decision. If you do have additional suggestions on how we can improve trust within ARM, please do reach out to your People Team Business Partner! -Rick C. Social Recruiting Manager

Thanks for leaving a review and Happy New Year! We love the work culture and work life balance here, which helps keep employees relaxed so they can do their thing, which is designing the next generation of low power processors! Since you're in Austin, I might be able to help out with the HR response times :) -Rick C. Social Recruiting Manager

Pros

ARM has a great rotation program for new grads. You get to rotate to several different teams and understand more parts of the business so that you end up a better engineer. They're small enough to where you can know most of the business and move around. Its a good environment. There is an urgency to work done, but the office is relaxed.

Cons

Employee diversity is low (in terms of gender, race, and lifestyle)

Thanks for leaving a review! For the graduates that join into a graduate rotation program, it is designed to give them the opportunity to learn about different teams that comprise ARM. The goal is for you to become a well-rounded engineer, and then you can choose which team you liked best to continue on in your career! Like many tech companies, employee diversity can be an issue. We are committed to equal opportunities for all candidates, regardless of gender, race or lifestyle and are working on initiatives to increase diversity across the board. We're also supporting STEM education, partnering with the BBC to provide micro:bit computers to all year 7 students in the UK, and stimulating the next generation of engineers. If you have some ideas on how we can improve, we encourage you to speak to your HR business partner, and see how you can get involved! -Rick C. Social Recruiting Manager
