Pros

I started one and half years ago at ARM and I like it! The company treats engineers with high respect and offers competitive rewards and benefits. The IoT business unit I work for is doing truly full-stack development, from embedded to backend and web front and everything in-between so my skill set is almost guaranteed to stay future-proof. Competent colleagues and the office location at the very center of Oulu don't hurt either. All in all, I very much enjoy my position as Software Engineer at ARM.

Cons

The future of IoT business is uncertain, and the fast growing office brings in some challenges.

One of our Software Directors spoke to the People team last week and gave a great analogy: "Hardware without software is just really expensive sand while software without hardware is just thought." Thanks for leaving a review! Free lunch vouchers are a trend that some (tech) companies have or are moving towards. It is an added benefit for the employee, is an option that is being considered in the Flex pot mentioned earlier this year for ARM employees. We try to keep the benefits across ARM equally to all employees, so the issue comes in that the cost of feeding a smaller office is much easier than the other larger offices. -Rick C.
