Pros

There are no “Pros” left for working for Asbury Automotive/Larry H Miller! The legacy that Larry Miller built is gone, and is there in name only. Asbury has systematically dismantled all of it.

Cons

I have watched Asbury dismantle the LHM organization piece by piece. There is NOBODY left at management that worked for LHM, they’ve all been replaced by Asbury people. They have also replaced most of the management at the dealerships. They let a ton of accounting people go and centralized it, so now customers can’t get their plates in a timely manner, and good luck getting a hold of anyone! The new “management” at corporate DOES not care about employees, and that comes from the very top in Atlanta, all the way down. You will not be valued as an employee; they care about their shareholders. However, all employees are required to attend a 3 day training to get you to drink the koolaid of being “Guest Centric” and they constantly tell you how much “Asbury Cares”. I never saw one shred of evidence that they care…I wanted to love Asbury and hoped for a good transition after the sale. Asbury management does not communicate well, it’s chaos. You will be micromanaged if you choose to work here and will have no freedom or joy in your position.

Pros

You’d think the size of the company and the footprint would offer opportunities and advantages for employees and their careers. That is what the “brochure” implies.

Cons

Asbury has demonstrated time and time again that they do not value employees. They run abnormally lean by design and have a “next man up” philosophy with no regard for work vs life balance. Possibly the most disturbing part is their misrepresentation of Clicklane success. This is something they “sell” investors on shareholder calls. The numbers are grossly fabricated. They encourage/require general managers to log every in-person customer as a Clicklane customer. Then report record number of sales through Clicklane when in reality, the true closing rate is 1/100th of what they are representing. Literally, 1/100th.
