Pros

Dynamic market. Much opportunity to learn and grow your skills. No boundaries. Can make the job as big as you would like. Good people.

Cons

Due to size sometimes limited resources. Dynamic environment with changing priorities. Planning is not on a long term horizon. Company prides itself in being nimble and changes directions as the market dictates.

Do you have thoughts on how we can delegate more? Are you/your team able to take on more, or are you at full capacity? We agree that it's important to think long-term. Help us be better. We can get there with your input. Thank you. Feel free to send any comments to Ally Jahn, ajahn@ascendmaterials.com. She shares whatever you ask (equally: requests to keep comments private, she does not share) with management. Thank you for helping us be better. Keep the comments coming.

Thank you for your comments. If you are willing to share your thoughts about how we can be/show more respect to our contract teams, please email them to ajahn@ascendmaterials.com. Our contractors are part of our family. Hearing that you didn't feel respected is important and we want to improve. Thank you for your comments.

Pros

The business is profitable and growing rapidly, safety is given a high priority, and there is a strong focus on costs. Its fast-paced and challenging. There is a strong leadership team in-place and a dedicated workforce. Ascend is investing in the plant every year. There is pay for performance so if the Company does well, you do well. There's little bureaucracy and I feel that I can advance here. Compensation and benefits are in-line with the chemical industry.

Cons

The corporate leadership team changes frequently, for various reasons. Not sure if this is good or bad but there is a lot of turnover. The biggest con is the Solutia bankruptcy before Ascend bought the business, resulting in several challenges being addressed by the current leadership team. This plant used to have a 9/80 work schedule and they should reconsider it, in order to upgrade their mid-level talent.
