Pros

The pay/salary are in line with other organizations. Vacation time and sick time are rolled into one bucket, but the time is generous as long as you don't become ill. The associates are hard working and dedicated.

Cons

Toxic organizational culture. The MSC has their values written on conference rooms and then breaks them daily with their employees (associates). They are quietly downsizing where many former excellent associates are there one day and gone the next. They pay the CEO and Executive Leadership excessive salaries, yet PIP or severance pay dedicated staff out hoping no one notices. There is nothing Catholic, moral, or rooted in the loving ministry of Jesus about this place. Work for them at your own risk, you are disposable. No accountability-Upper management consistently blames their staff for their own performance failures and then eliminates the associate. It's the one constant about the organization. Yet, no one above the MSC takes any ownership or action to fix the situation. If it's a faith based organization, it isn't a faith rooted in Jesus. Matthew 7:15

Pros

This is a national company that has a good reputation. My hospital is very well thought of. It serves a very large population and draws from ma large region that provides state-of-the-art healthcare.

Cons

This company has changed from the one that I hired on with. As is probably the case everywhere, it's only real focus has become the Almighty Dollar. They have gone the way of no longer valuing experience, to the point of firing very good employees in order to hire younger, "cheaper" ones, especially obvious in nursing. Furthermore, the expectations of these young nurses are unreasonable and has resulted in an unsafe patient care environment.

Pros

Lots of PTO Great Health Benefits Great Salary for the job

Cons

PTO is an illusion because you can barely use it Management is bad at managing Extreme micromanagement No respect or appreciation for workers Metrics for big wig bonuses is king They cancel breaks on a whim and delay lunches when busy. Gets to a ridiculous point. They do not value you as a worker and place value more on customers (big wigs need good metrics to hit their bonuses). Super political atmosphere. You will NOT be promoted or given raises unless you are buddy-buddy with the people in charge. There are little to no open positions in the upper level IT departments so you are stuck at service desk forever. Even when positions open up, they hire external often. They are EXTREMELY strict about adhering to your schedule. If you are scheduled for 8AM and you login at 8:05, its basically looked at as the same as calling off. There is virtually no difference in the work even if you login 5 minutes late. You will still get your job done and service the customers. But, again, they need to hit their metrics (which includes schedule adherence) in order for them to get their coveted bonuses. If you are in IT, as long as you are not desperate for money, find another job. Do NOT get stuck here. It is well known among those on the inside that if you are good at your job, they will keep you on the service desk instead of promoting you since you help them hit their metrics. This place is toxic and severely affected my mental and physical health. I know many others who have expressed the same.
