Pros

I can only describe AskNicely as a unicorn amongst tech companies here in Auckland. If you are lucky enough to get a chance to come onboard, then you should grab it, this is a very rare chance to be a part of something truly special. What makes me the happiest is that the vision for the product is not only incredibly exciting and therefore heaps of fun to build - it also has the potential to change things for the better for other businesses and their teams worldwide - in a really nice way. And, we get to build this on top something that is already hugely successful with 1000's of happy customers worldwide! The Ponsonby team is growing and I'm excited about who will join us and what we'll achieve together. Our engineers, designers and leadership are all super smart, down to earth, and genuinely nice. The leaders are doing extra special things that show how much they care about us, like 'Nice Days'. They give each of us 5 extra days a year that we can just get up and leave the office with no notice to go and have a nice day - no questions asked. This isn't the sort of place where you need to carefully wait around for permission to do something a bit different. If you are a strong player, with outstanding talent and you want to contribute - they will encourage you to sprinkle your magic dust into the product. There's heaps more I could mention: the TimTam's we keep stocked in the cupboard, Milo - the office dog, the free Yoga lessons on Wednesday, the great location we have in Ponsonby, the Slack channels where we appreciate one another with Taco emoji's that you can redeem for cool stuff - and there's really so much more!

Cons

If you are looking for a job at a large corporate, with lots of processes and structure where everything is defined for you up front to the Nth degree, then this isn't the place for you.
