Great people, awful leadership

Pros

The people at the individual-contributer level are outstanding. Dedicated group of people who really want to see the company succeed despite the obstacles in front of them.

Cons

The leadership team top to bottom is an absolute disaster. The CEO is no longer qualified to run the company at this stage of the organization. There is not a manager, VP, or C-Level left there who I would feel confident in their ability to steer this ship in the right direction. They do not know what they're doing. I have never seen a leadership team this incompetent.

Buyer Beware

Pros

- There are some great people there, but most of them realize quickly how terrible of a place it is and either leave on their own or are pushed out.

Cons

- The CEO (Arron) is a nightmare. He will appear one way in your interviews, charming and that he genuinely cares, but it's all an act. DON'T BE FOOLED! - There's no trust. - Management (CEO) changes direction too frequently - suffers from shiny object syndrome. - Micromanagement is next level. - Rather than do a job correctly, they'd rather cut corners.

Pros

Great work environment, loved coming into the office every day. The product itself is solid, product team works hard in Auckland to keep AskNicely up with its competition. I had the pleasure of working under 3 separate managers while at AskNicely, Casey, Steve, and Alex. I enjoyed working under all of them very much.

Cons

From a revenue perspective, AskNicely is still a small business and things like Covid can have an unfortunate effect on some employees like myself who were laid off.
