Pros

Working with autistic children is rewarding when you see the positive behavior changes in the child.

Cons

There are stressful situations, you have to be very patient, understanding, and be able to handle getting hit, spit, and yelled at by the children.

Although the pay is not competitive, the experience and knowledge earned int he field of Autism behavioral intervention is rewarding and job experience for future careers in the field.

Cons

Pay isn't competitive. No benefits if you are part-time. No room for growth without an advanced degree Little training offered when hired, but this aspect has greatly improved
