Pros

Great positioning of product, CEO has got a vision and plan and is sticking to it. Nice company perks and benefits.

Cons

Operations side driven by top-down, heavy-handed management style, which leads to unreasonable deadlines and CYA behavior. Often reactive in approach, instead of being proactive. Brand decisions often sidelined by "get it done" attitude, which leads to larger issues with messaging and consistency later on.

Pros

I worked at AssetMark for 4 years on their Business Consulting (previously Practice Management) team, and with just about every department, so I will make this a thorough review (including a TLDR at the end). First, I'm a little bias, but the Business Consulting team seems like it is hands down the best team to work on in the company. The consultants are experienced, supportive and just amazing people to work with. They have put new leadership in place, and the direction/support from management is unmatched. The workload is great, it is challenging enough to keep you on your toes but if you manage your work it is rare you will have to work extra hours. I didn't often work from home because the office environment is a good workspace and quiet, but it was an option about once a week which can be convenient. I would give 6/5 stars to this team if I could. Culture The people at AssetMark are very friendly and although the culture can feel a bit like a Dilbert comic strip, the people are fun (especially the Marketing department). I will say, overall job satisfaction does seem to vary team to team. There are some departments like Marketing and Benefits that definitely have an expectation that overtime and longer hours are the norm. The company has been growing like crazy which means roles aren't always perfectly defined, processes are not officially in place yet and things can move fast. Some other reviews mentioned that there was a lack of opportunity for advancement which I think is wrong. Because the company is growing promotions and even moving to different teams to advance your career is common. Benefits The health care benefits are good, 401K match is 6% and time off was 4 weeks starting and 5 weeks after you have been there for 5 years. The one downside to the benefits is that they don't have any silicon valley perks like meals provided and the gym stipend is very small. TLDR: Personally, I had an amazing experience at AssetMark, lots of opportunities, great pay and great work-life balance. However, that can depend on which department you are in it seems like.

Cons

No big cons, this place is awesome to work at.
