Associated offers both a 401k and a Pensions for a combined potential 8% annual contribution from the company. Almost no one offers a penson anymore. They will match your 401k contribution up to 5% and your receive a 3% pension contribution annually. The CEO cares and discusses the importance of retirement planning on his town hall meetings

Cons

You have to wait 3 years for the pension to vest.

Pros

As a retired military Veteran, I enjoy working in a regulated industry. Processes and oversight are in place to meet federal regulation and compliance. Knowing why things are done makes understanding the how to get it done easier. I am challenged everyday I come to work and, I get a great sense of accomplishment of doing things the right way.

Cons

Anyone can find something to complain about work. For me, it's a matter of perspective. Bottom line, the pros out weigh any of the cons. I would recommend working for Associated Bank to any of my friends.
