      Good products that will never get to market because of incompetent executive management

      Pros

      Good pay and decent benefits, one of few pharma employers in the DC area; good facilities (cafeteria and gym); flexible scheduling if your manager allows this

      Cons

      Good people working themselves into the ground under constant pressure to satisfy the demands of executive management who have no idea how to run a development organization. Culture of fear, with no consistency in what is expected and how to demonstrate good performance. Performance evaluations are an exercise in punishment.

      Good culture, failed to deliver

      Pros

      Good people culture. Good experience working on global projects and on most advanced science with good technologies and in presence of many competent scientists.

      Cons

      Too many people working at AZ for too long, which too often brings a sense of staleness even with continous re-orgs, and makes it very difficult for later comers to have career advancement.

      Pros

      High salaries and good benefits such as EAP to deal with emotional demands. There are some truly remarkable staff level employees.

      Cons

      Management operates in a 'reality free' zone. This might work if you are Steve Jobs, but not in this organization. Culture is one of problem avoidance, transference or denial.
