Pros

From a technology perspective, GR is suprisingly advanced in many areas. Was able to learn a lot in the time I was there. Mostly good people to work with.

Cons

The cyclical nature of retail is a little offputting in terms of job security. Pay was reasonable but not that competitive. Somewhat of an unprofessional environment from an HR perspective. Benefits were not competitive.

Pros

Overall a good company. Great rotating schedule for all key carrying managers, unusual for retail management. Fast paced, in all aspects. They have no tolerance for attendance issues, and expect you to finish all tasks on time or sooner with clear communication and accurate signoffs. Peers help when needed, so you feel your support system. All in all the management aspect for retail is basic, you have daily tasks, freight, and basic operations. It's low stess due to little programs, you do not have to focus on pushing sales and customer service. This helps you actually drive your teams, and develop your high potential associates. You do have to do mostly everything at a store level like maintenance, landscaping, receiving, shipping, janitorial, ect. But again, this makes your day fly by because you have your daily task list and you are aware of what your store needs.

Cons

No actual training program in place, training is all hands on training. This isn't always bad however it would be better to invest in a training program for management hired exterally. There is no bonus program in place, however salary compensation meets expectations.
