      Professional and technology forward thinking company, but no loyalty to staff whatsoever

      Pros

      Great staff who are professionally competent and motivated to deliver the best to clients.

      Cons

      New directors being hired with new strategies constantly being implemented with no understanding of the work we actually do. No loyalty to staff where in the good times bonuses are delivered just to the Directors. In the bad times HR being the busiest department moving from business to business inflicting redundancies with no appreciation of loyalty, effort or length of service for the company. The Shareholder is king in Atkins. Profit and margin matter, not employees.

      Due to the lack of leadership and poor morale all non management staff are very close and bond very well

      Cons

      Zero recognition for any work done, either as your role or above and beyond your day job Management are out of touch the needs of a modern day workforce The culture is to look for reasons to punish rather than reward Junior members of staff have no support for further professional development

      Working day can be flexible but is very dependent on the attitude of immediate line management. Local teams are all enthusiastic and great to work with

      Cons

      Lots of Middle Management shouting the words "Digital Engineering" with no concept of what it actually means. Trying to focus on innovation but failing due to productivity targets. As SNC-Lavalin takeover, middle management are micro-managing and causing engineers to leave.
