Pros

If you are in the right office and sector, it can be a good time to be at Atkins. If you aren't, you will stay on a downward slide. There have been lots of defections from the PBS&J days, and they haven't been replaced.

Cons

Many technical people have to find work for themselves because the "business unit" people either don't do it or only do it for the discipline they are part of. The business model restricts technical people from doing business development. It doesn't work. Atkins keeps adding business unit mouths to feed and isn't addressing the technical deficiencies or providing the support they need. They have little/no interest in supporting career or professional development.

Pros

challenging work, responsibility, learning during job, technical support among different offices

Cons

support from management is not provided enough, expectations for jobs that are not employees expertise, for example business development, etc. Management does not fully understand the technical aspects.
