Pros
• Employees are actively encouraged to contribute new and innovative ideas to drive the company forward. And there’s always an expert who is happy to help and support. • I find Atmos to be a very supporting and nurturing environment to progress your personal development. My manager actively encourages me and the team to take on new learning and development challenges and training. • Without a doubt Atmos’ CEO is one of the most approachable CEOs I have ever known, she always has time to discuss things and genuinely wants to know about you. She doesn’t have an office she sits at a desk in the sales and marketing department. • The core hours are 9.30-3.00 with a (post covid) hybrid policy of two days in the office. I find this works really well for people and encourages a work/life balance. • The care for employees wellness was amazing. In the height of the pandemic the CEO filtered through senior management and middle management that people’s health and wellbeing was the priority. There’s also the option to take personal healthcare at all levels (not just senior management). And the marketing and HR teams run lots of initiatives to encourage employees to take care of themselves such as walking challenges, mental health and general wellbeing advice. • There’s a number of smaller socials such as a football team, curry club, an employee action team who organize regular social activities paid for by the company, summer party and Christmas party. In lieu of a Christmas party the past few years employees were sent luxury hampers for them and their families to enjoy. • Individual achievements and contributions are recognized by some of the departments and called out in the quarterly comms meetings which is very rewarding and great for everyone to hear. • Free tea, coffee, drink and fresh fruit. My advice for anyone applying is that you will get out of it what you put in.
Cons
On the whole it’s a fantastic company to work for and I feel very lucky. So the below are only minor gripes: • The Manchester office is an Grade II listed church which is very unique and a really nice environment to work in. However, inside it could do with a bit of updating – lick of paint, freshened carpets and getting rid of some of the old bits of furniture. • The office could be cleaned on a more regular basis. • A larger area for lunch and socializing would be nice. • There is some pressure for people to be in the office more regularly from senior management. • Maternity and paternity could be better, this has improved recently but is still below the market average. Especially for a company with a low number of female employees, this would be a quick win. • It’s a shame that they don’t get the three star Best Companies rating that they deserve.
